Living in the Chicagoland area for over six years now, I have caught the infectious design-bug. I love to constantly explore great new designers and shops in order to bring my own interpretation to the Chicago fashion scene.
Growing up with an immigrant Italian grandmother I learned that nothing could go to waste. Creating ways to reuse any leftover fabrics, or food for that matter, was recycling out of necessity. My grandmother helped to instill in me a creativity to use what you have, a promise to never throw anything away, and a confidence that I can do anything beautifully!
I graduated from Michigan State and went on to teach elementary school. After having children of my own I started sewing to keep busy and feed my creativity during "naptimes" and while my husband travelled. My initial creations were meant for gift-giving but I was soon encouraged to expand this hobby into a business.
Over the years many friends and business people have given me their extra fabrics destined for the dumpsters and I have quickly collected an interesting supply of raw materials. I have formed a partnership with area business to help recycle beautiful fabrics that have enormous potential. I am now able to create these one-of-a-kind purses. Giving these fabrics new purpose not only reflects my Italian heritage, but also lets me do my part to help the environment while satisfying my creativity.
